Governor Kotek orders flags to half-staff for 9/11

Governor Tina Kotek has ordered flags lowered across Oregon public institutions in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 civilians and first responders killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The observance honors the lives lost that day and recognizes the courage and selflessness of the first responders and others who stepped forward to help.

Flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on September 11, 2026. The order applies to Oregon public institutions statewide, with no narrower county, city, or facility limitation stated.

Kotek’s remembrance of 9/11 calls on Oregonians to carry forward the spirit of courage and community and to find strength in unity over division.
