Governor Tony Evers orders flags to half-staff for 9/11 remembrance

Governor Tony Evers orders the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 11, 2026, in honor of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The order also marks a state Day of Service and Remembrance, inviting Wisconsinites to reflect on the 25th anniversary of the attacks through acts of kindness and service in their local communities.

The order takes effect from sunrise to sunset on Sept. 11, 2026. Evers and members of his administration are scheduled to participate in service events that day as part of the observance.
