Governor Mike Kehoe has ordered that the flag of the United States and the flag of Missouri be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol and at all government offices throughout Missouri on Friday, May 15, 2026, from sunrise to sunset, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Public Law 107–89 designates September 11 as Patriot Day and requests that the President issue an annual proclamation calling on all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States, as well as interested organizations and individuals, to display the flag of the United States at half-staff on that day.

The law states that the flag should be lowered in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States that occurred on September 11, 2001.

It also calls for a moment of silence on Patriot Day in honor of those individuals.
