Governor Armstrong orders flags to half-staff for 9/11 victims

Governor Kelly Armstrong orders the United States and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday in remembrance of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The directive also honors the heroes who died trying to save others and the military members who have died in the Global War on Terror.

The order applies to all government agencies, and North Dakota residents are encouraged to lower flags at homes and businesses. The observance aligns with Patriot Day and the federal call to remember Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Americans are also encouraged to observe a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. Central Daylight Time to honor the victims of the attacks. The half-staff observance is set for Friday.
